Two men will spend the rest of the Holy Week break in detention after they figured in a fistfight on board a ferry at a port in Samal Island, Davao del Norte morning on Good Friday, April 18, 2025.
Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS) Chief of Police, Lt. Col. Hamlet Lerios, said the fistfight was triggered when passengers were trying to muscle their way into the barge.
Personnel of Task Force Davao and the Philippine Coast Guard had to intervene to stop the fight.
The two men have reportedly settled the matter but police will still file a case for alarm and scandal.
Since Good Friday is a holiday, the case will be formally filed on Monday, April 21. Until then, the two will spend the rest of the Holy Week break at the detention facility.
