Two have been confirmed dead and nine others injured in an accident in Barangay Alangilan, Bacolod City past 7 p.m. on April 18, 2025.
According to Bacolod City Police Office Director, Colonel Joeresty Coronica, a solemn procession was proceeding back to the church in Alangilan when a private vehicle rammed into a tricycle that was tailing the procession.
The private vehicle also rammed into a police patrol car, and the victims who joined the procession, when it traversed on the opposite lane.
It was learned from the police that on board the private vehicle were Indian nationals, including the driver.
The Indian nationals left the car and fled reportedly, but they were caught later.
The driver, as of posting time, is under the custody of Police Station 5.
Police investigation said that the private vehicle was moving speedily.
As of this writing, the driver was to undergo an alcohol test to determine whether he was drunk while driving.
He is set to face multiple charges.
