While most observed a quiet Holy Week, police in the Bicol Region continued to crack down on illegal drugs, netting 22 suspects and seizing over P1.6 million worth of narcotics in seven days.

In a report by the Police Regional Office 5 (PRO)-5, authorities carried out 21 anti-drug operations across Bicol from April 14 to 20.

These led to the arrest of 22 individuals and the seizure of 37.243 grams of shabu and four grams of marijuana, valued at P1,613,732.

Camarines Sur recorded the largest haul with P1.37 million worth of shabu, P6,790 of which is from Naga City, followed by:

  • Masbate with P108,800
  • Albay with P68,680
  • Camarines Norte with P53,244

Police Brigadier General Andre Dizon, PRO-5 Director, praised the operatives and said the fight against illegal drugs remains a top priority.

“These accomplishments show our consistent and determined pursuit of a safer and drug-free Bicol. With the help of our community partners and law enforcement units, we will sustain this momentum and ensure that our region remains peaceful and secure,” he said.

PRO-5 said the results reflect growing public cooperation and their continued push to keep Bicol peaceful and secure.
