Eight cases of heat stroke were recorded in Iloilo City following high heat indices from April 16, 2025 to April 21, 2025.
The City Health Office (CHO) recorded four cases on April 16 when the heat index reached 47 degrees Celsius (47°C), and one case each on April 20 and April 21 when the heat index was at 39°C and 40°C, respectively. Two cases were recorded on April 19 when the heat index hit 44°C.
Of the said cases, six were taken to the hospital. Three of them passed away, according to CHO data.
The patients include a 10-year-old child. The rest are mostly senior citizens.
The CHO has once again reminded the public of heat-related illnesses because of the warm weather.
