An eatery in Barangay Nalsian, Calasiao may be forced to shut down if it fails to fix major health violations found during a surprise inspection by the Municipal Health Office on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
The inspection, conducted with barangay officials and staff from the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO), revealed multiple sanitation issues.
Among the violations: employees had no health cards, the eatery had no proper kitchen or dishwashing area, poor food handling practices, and an unsanitary waste disposal system.
“Wala po silang proper kitchen area. Wala silang dishwashing area. Improper yung food handling nila,” Francys Paolo Tamayo, Sanitary Inspector III of the Calasiao Municipal Health Office, said.
Authorities gave the establishment 30 days to comply with the recommendations in accordance with the Sanitation Code. If the owner fails to address the violations, the eatery may be shut down.
The eatery owner, however, expressed willingness to follow the guidelines.
“Para mas ma-improve namin yung business namin.” “Pagbubutihin po namin yung trabaho namin para sa ikabubuti ng business namin,” the owner said.
Routine inspections will continue across Calasiao to ensure all food establishments follow proper sanitation standards and protect public health.
