Two criminology students were shot in broad daylight while sitting at a milk tea shop in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.

Closed circuit television (CCTV) footage shows a man approaching the victims at a table. Without warning, he pulls out a gun and shoots one of the students in the back of the head. He then fires at the second victim, who was wearing a cap.

The gunman fled the scene quickly as people inside the shop screamed and ran for cover.

Witnesses believe the students may have been mistaken as among those in a fight earlier that day.

He said the conflict started when a tricycle hit a motorcycle, which escalated into a chase and a fistfight.

Police confirmed that both victims were shot in the head.

Patrolman Marwineto Lucio, the case investigator, said.

The SOCO tell us that it is a .45 caliber,” he added.

One of the students died on the spot. The other was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Both were wearing casual clothes and had no idea they were targets.

Authorities say the young men involved in the earlier fight had already settled the issue at the barangay level.

Some stayed behind to grab snacks at the shop—where the shooting later happened.

As of this writing, the gunman remains at large.

Police are asking the public to help identify the suspect and provide any information that could lead to his arrest.
