With just over two weeks left before Election Day, officials in the Ilocos Region are wasting no time to ensure a smooth voting process.

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) announced that 100 percent of the transmission modem gadgets are already installed across the region.

Most canvassing centers are set up at Sangguniang Bayan, Sangguniang Panlungsod, and Sangguniang Panlalawigan halls.

Reddy Balarbar, Acting Regional Election Director of COMELEC Region 1, said.

The internet connection in these centers will be activated between 12 noon and 1 p.m. on May 12, the Election Day itself.

Meanwhile, Department of Education Supervisor Officials (DESO) from Mangaldan were briefed by COMELEC on April 23.

They will act as contact persons and election officers at polling stations.

COMELEC has also scheduled briefings for support staff in the coming days to ensure everyone is well-prepared for the elections.
