A show cause order was issued to the Indian national involved in the death of three persons and injury of 17 others in Bacolod City.

The Indian national rammed into vehicles and persons in a solemn procession in Barangay Alangilan on Good Friday, April 18, 2025.

Land Transportation Office (LTO) 6 Director, Atty. Gaudioso Geduspan II, confirmed that a show cause order was issued against the Indian driver identified as Jarpreet Singh.

“He is given five days to formalize his reply to that show cause order. Nakita natin pag-check sa system, may discrepancy sa blotter ngunit ang identity is out of question, siya talaga yun,” Geduspan said.

Geduspan pointed out that instead of an Indian nationality, what was reflected on the suspect’s driver’s license is Filipino citizenship.

“Yun ang nakita natin. Tsini-check natin kung papano sya naging Filipino,” Geduspan added.

It was learned from Bacolod City Police Office Director, Colonel Joeresty Coronica, that the suspect was able to post bail.

However, Coronica denied that the prosecutor’s office dismissed the complaint on alleged drunk driving.

“Hindi ibinasura, ang resolution ng prosecutor sa anti-drunk driving mag-produce pa (ng evidence),” Coronica said.
