An online seller was mauled by a customer in Jaro District, Iloilo City.

The incident was caught on closed-circuit television (CCTV) video.

The online seller in the video delivered a hoodie jacket to a customer in Barangay Tabuc Subâ, Jaro on April 25, 2025.

The video showed that a man was chased by another person. The man fell on the pavement and was punched several times by the person chasing him.

After a few seconds, the person who had beaten up the man left him. Another man was seen in the video who walked along with the suspect.

The victim, identified only as alias “Jude,” is an online seller and a resident of Barangay Benedicto, Jaro. According to Jude, he had a meet-up with the suspect who placed an order for a hoodie jacket from him.

“Dinu-double check niya ang hoodie kung merong issue o wala tapos bigla niya akong sinuntok sa ulo. Nang natumba ako, finallow-up (follow up) nya pa ako ng maraming suntok. Hindi ko mabilang dahil nagko-cover ako ng aking ulo,” the victim said.

The victim pointed out that he does not know the suspect personally. He said that that was the first time the suspect placed an order from him.

Police identified the suspect as alias “Yohanes,” a resident of Barangay Tabuc Suba, Jaro. He was not at home when the police went to his house.

"Sabi ng mga kaanak niya, nagtatrabaho. Wala naman kaming magawa kasi hindi naman mapasok ang bahay dahil hindi naman namin siya personal na nakita,” Major Eduardo Siacon, chief of Iloilo Police Station 9, said.

The victim said he sustained a bump on his head and abrasions.

He said he is determined to file a complaint against the suspect.

Aside from slight physical injuries, the police have also mulled on charges for theft as the suspect failed reportedly to pay the item he ordered.
