The Mandaue City Police has delved into circumstances in the death of a man found inside a vehicle parked by the roadside.
According to the police, the man sustained a gunshot wound at the back of his head and on the upper back of his body.
A traffic enforcer was first to have reported of a pickup parked unusually in the early morning by the curb in F. Zuellig Avenue, North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City on April 27, 2025.
The traffic enforcer went curious and checked the vehicle. He discovered that a body of a male person was inside the pickup.
"Di man na siya kaayo usual nga area [nga] may overnight parking, sayo man na sa buntag, gi-check sa member sa ato team…nagpanawag siya og polis, and also Subangdaku Emergency Response Team, mao na, no vital signs naman siya pag-check,” Police Lt. Col. Mercy Villaro, information officer of the Mandaue City Police Office, said.
The Mandaue City Police has looked into possible robbery, aside from personal grudge, as the motive of the slay as the wallet and the cellphone of the victim are missing.
Villaro said that they already have a person of interest in the said case, but has withheld information as the investigation is still ongoing, as of this writing.
Villaro added that the incident is considered as an isolated case.
“This is an isolated case, dili gihapon ta mabalaka sa Mandaue, we are generally peaceful and naa tay gitan-aw nga person of interest, and as soon as possible ato na’ng masulbad,” Villaro assured.
It was further learned that the victim was connected with a car company.
He was buried immediately, police also disclosed.
A few of his friends were observed to have posted on their social media accounts a call for justice for the victim.
