Two men drowned in separate incidents in Dagupan City and Bacarra, Ilocos Norte.

In Dagupan, the family of 25-year-old Jeacon Ramos is grieving after he drowned while swimming at Tondaligan Beach in Barangay Bonuan Gueset.

According to police, Ramos and his friends had been drinking before swimming.

Brendon Palisoc, Chief of Dagupan City Police Station, said.

Strong waves reportedly pushed Ramos underwater. It took authorities four hours to recover his body.

In response, lifeguards at Tondaligan Beach have intensified patrols to prevent similar incidents.

In Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, a 42-year-old man also drowned while swimming in a river.

Police confirmed the victim had been drinking before entering the water.

He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Authorities are reminding the public to avoid swimming after drinking and to always follow beach and river safety rules.
