Rice farmers in Casiguran, Aurora are now feeling the pinch as farm gate prices of palay continue to fall, leaving hundreds of sacks in storage.

Many farmers said their newly harvested palay has been sitting in warehouses for nearly two weeks, hoping prices will go up before they sell.

Currently, the farm gate price ranges from only P14 to P14.50 per kilo—too low for most farmers to break even.

According to the National Food Authority (NFA) in Casiguran, their purchases remain limited as their warehouses are still full.

Farmers continue to wait, but with storage spaces filling up, they fear they may be forced to sell at a loss.
