Authorities in Dagupan City, Pangasinan are on strict watch after the latest batch of Automated Counting Machines (ACMs) arrived early morning on Tuesday, April 29, in preparation for the 2025 elections.
The machines, delivered inside sealed and locked container vans, were brought to a secured hub in Dagupan City.
Around 9 a.m., election workers unloaded the ACMs and stored them inside a warehouse.
The delivery follows an earlier batch received on Monday in Pangasinan.
Pangasinan Provincial Election Supervisor Atty. Ericson Oganiza oversaw the arrival of the machines, which also included Consolidated Canvassing System (CCS) kits.
Police are guarding the facility around the clock, with six officers rotating shifts to ensure tight security.
“Definitely susunduin yan ng mobile patrols ng per district para masigurado yung security ng ACMs natin,” PLTCOL. Brendon Palisoc, Chief of the Dagupan City Police Station, said.
Meanwhile, volunteers from the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) are monitoring not just the arrival of the machines but also the actions of candidates and their supporters.
“Asahan natin magiging peaceful at credible ang ating eleksyon,” retired PCOL. Geronimo Reside, Provincial Coordinator of PPCRV-Pangasinan, said.
The machines will be distributed to different cities and municipalities in the province ahead of the May 2025 polls.
