A dead man was found tied to a utility post in an upland area of Aloguinsan town, midwest Cebu past 4 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.

The body was tied to an electric pole using a bigger type of scotch tape.

A black shirt covered his face. He was wearing black short pants. A black cap was found near his body.

Above him a message written on paper and posted to the electric pole reads: ‘Wag tularan, drug pusher ko (Do not emulate, I am a drug pusher).”

Police surmised that the man was slain in another place and was taken later to Barangay Punay in Aloguinsan town.

He sustained wounds on different parts of his body, but the authorities are yet to determine whether these are stab wounds or gunshot wounds.

There were also burn marks found on his body.

The police said they received a call from a concerned citizen on a dead body tied to a post in Barangay Punay. Later in the afternoon, the victim was identified positively by members of his family.

The victim, alias “Robert,” is a 24-year-old resident of Barangay North Poblacion, San Fernando town, south Cebu.

When asked whether the victim could have been tortured, Police Captain Blane Dunn Tabares, spokesperson of the Cebu Police Provincial Office, answered that torture is likely.

“Yes, possible kay wala man gud slugs pud sa area, so meaning siguro gidala lang didto,” Tabares said.
