A man running for board member in Davao del Norte was injured after he was shot near a church in Barangay Magugpo North, Tagum City evening on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.

The 43-year-old victim was identified as Audrie Perez, executive assistant of Davao del Norte First District Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez.

Based on investigation, a witness saw the gunman riding a motorcycle and wearing a jacket and a ballcap. He escaped after the incident.

The victim was brought to the hospital for treatment.

Police Regional Office-Davao (PRO-11) Director, Brigadier General Leon Victor Rosete, has ordered the Davao del Norte Police Provincial Office to launch a thorough investigation to identify and arrest the perpetrator.

Authorities have yet to determine if the incident is related to the 2025 elections.

“May tinitingman tayong dito personal grudge and may pagkakautang may ganon…Tutukan namin ang kasong ito para agarang maiharap sa hustisya ang mga kalokohan nato,” Rosete said.
