A 23-year-old utility worker of Barangay Baganihan in Marilog District, Davao City was shot dead.

Police said that according to a neighbor, the victim was urinating outside their house when he was shot by the gunman.

The victim ran inside their house but the assailant went after him and continued to shoot him.

“And then natamaan na siya, nidagan siya padulong sa ilang sala pero gisunod pa gyud siya ug gisiguro gyud nga mamatay jud siya nuh,” Davao City Police Office (DCPO) Spokesperson, Capt. Hazel Caballero Tuazon, said.

The suspect escaped after the incident.

Authorities recovered from the crime scene two empty shells from a caliber .45 pistol and around 50 unfired bullets of 5.56mm firearm.

Police have identified a person of interest and eyed land dispute as motive.

“Ang usa ka rason ani kining gumikan sa yuta dira sa maong lugar. Mao man gyud ni usually rason kung nganong naa tay shooting incidents diha sa Marilog District, gumikan sa problema sa yuta,” Tuazon added.
