Hundreds of vote-counting machines will soon arrive in towns across Pangasinan as the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) starts delivering Automated Counting Machines (ACMs) to local offices from central hubs.

In Mangaldan, Election Officer Gloria Cadiente confirmed that the machines will be delivered on May 5.

“Dito sa atin sa Mangaldan, May 5 ang schedule natin,” Cadiente said.

COMELEC-Pangasinan said a total of 2,869 ACMs will be used across the province, with an additional 491 machines set aside as contingency units.

Provincial Election Supervisor, Atty. Ericson Oganiza, said the rollout is being handled by a logistics provider.

“Through our logistics provider, i-forward nila ang mga ACM from hubs sa election office. Tapos bahala na si election officer na magpadala sa mga voting center. Dapat on or before May 6, nasa voting center na ang mga ACM dahil sa final testing and sealing,” Oganiza said.

COMELEC assured the public that they are securing the machines during transit from hubs to municipal offices and eventually to the voting centers.

Final testing and sealing of the machines will be done before the May 13 elections.
