Authorities have arrested the man who allegedly hacked to death his 17-year-old live-in partner and six-month-old son.
He was arrested in Malita, Davao Occidental on Monday, May 5, 2025.
According to a report by GMA Super Radyo Davao, the 29-year-old suspect hid in Barangay Talagoy after the incident.
Based on investigation, the victims’ bodies were already in a state of decomposition and that they may have been killed three days before they were found on May 1.
The victims sustained hack wounds in the head and neck.
Authorities recovered the bolo allegedly used in the killing.
It was found that the woman and the suspect had appeared before the barangay due to an altercation that led to physical assault on April 15, 2025.
The suspect reportedly owned up to the crime.
Authorities said the motives may be jealousy and rage after the suspect accused his live-in partner of teasing him by saying the baby was not his.
The suspect is facing murder with parricide charges.
