Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia skipped from endorsing senatorial candidate Camille Villar, despite a confirmation from Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas campaign manager, Toby Tiangco, that Villar still remains with the administration electoral slate.

Garcia, in a people’s rally in Dumanjug town, south Cebu Province on Monday, May 5, 2025, endorsed former Department of the Interior and Local Government secretary Benhur Abalos, Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Francis Tolentino, Abby Binay, Manny Pacquiao, Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, Pia Cayetano, Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, Lito Lapid, and Erwin Tulfo.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Abalos, and Cavite 2nd District Representative Lani Mercado-Revilla, on behalf of Bong Revilla, graced the rally.

“Daan na kong nag-ingon nga ang One Cebu [political party] dunay mga siyam, napulo, nga i-endorso. Mahibawo ra unya mo kon kinsa ang ika-onse. Ang ika-dose abyerto na nâ, kamo nay pilî. Pero duna gyud tay onse kabuok nga suportahan,” Garcia said.

Though the governor and Senator Raffy Tulfo, brother of Erwin Tulfo, has traded barbs on concerns with the Capitol-run North Bus Terminal raised by the senator in his Cebu City visit in April 2025, Garcia said that siblings are so different from one another.

“Bisan og padayon kong giatake ni [Senator] Raffy Tulfo, magpa-Senate investigation pa man gani siya, apan og atong buot hunahunaon, dili man sila [ni Erwin] parihas og utok. Bisan sa among pamilya, [kaming managsuon] managlahi og utok ug personalidad… because I do believe this senatoriable is ready to defend Cebu, atong suportahan si Erwin Tulfo,” Garcia said.

Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, congressmen and women groups from Cebu, as well as local chief executives led by host Mayor Efren Guntrano Gica also graced the event.
