The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bohol has offered P300,000 reward money for persons who can provide accurate information on how two fishermen died in the waters of Bien Unido town.
Two fishermen died after a sea vessel purportedly rammed into their motorbanca on May 2, 2025.
The casualties were residents of Malingin Island in Bien Unido identified as Rene Awas Reyes and Bjay Manayon.
Manayon died on the spot, while Reyes was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
According to the Bohol Police Provincial Police, there was no sea patrol conducted by the police and the Philippine Coast Guard at the time the incident occurred, contrary to reports that circulated earlier.
