Nearly 60 houses were razed to the ground after a fire hit a residential area in Barangay Mankilam, Tagum City, Davao del Norte.
According to a report by GMA Super Radyo Davao, the fire broke out shortly before midday on Monday, May 5, 2025.
Authorities said five residents sustained minor injuries during the incident.
Based on verification conducted by the City Social Welfare and Development Office, more than 98 families were affected as of 11 a.m. on May 6, 2025.
The residents affected are taking shelter temporarily at the gymnasiums in the barangay.
The local government has also extended immediate assistance to the families affected.
The damage to properties reached nearly P4 million.
BFP is still investigating the incident to determine the cause of the fire.
