The Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) has launched an investigation into two men who allegedly posed as police officers during a campaign sortie in Camiguin.
The two men on motorcycle reportedly followed a political group that was conducting a house-to-house campaign, according to a viral social media post.
According to the netizen who made the post, volunteers of the political group flagged the two men down. The two allegedly introduced themselves as police officers.
However, the two fled when the volunteers asked for identification (ID).
Pagkahuman dayon ingon siya nga balikan kuno ko niya,” the complainant, John Paul Aranas, said.
PRO-10 spokesperson, Major Joann Navarro, said Camiguin Police Provincial Director, Col. Benbo Jumalon, confirmed that the two men in the photos that have been shared online are not among the cops in the province.
Authorities urged the public to report any similar incident.
