The Department of Health-Northern Mindanao (DOH-10) has warned the public against alleged fraudulent activities of a woman who claimed to be a representative of the agency.
In an advisory, DOH-10 said it has received reports that the woman allegedly known as Suzette Lim has been selling vitamins and supplements to senior citizens at a high price using the name of DOH-10 to reportedly appear legitimate and trustworthy.
DOH-10 clarified that the woman is not and has never been affiliated with DOH in any capacity, and that the products she is selling are allegedly not registered with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
DOH-10 added that the sale and distribution of unregistered health products pose risks to public health and safety.
“We remind the public that DOH CHD-NM does not authorize or endorse any individual and/or personnel to sell medical products or supplements. Any such claim is entirely false, misleading and a form of scam,” DOH-10 said.
“We urge the public, particularly our senior citizens and their families, to be extra cautious. Please do not engage in any transactions with this individual or any person making similar claims. Any suspicious activity should be reported immediately to your nearest DOH office, local government authority, or law enforcement agency,” DOH-10 added.
