A communication simulation exercise (simex) of personnel from the Talisay City Police Office in the Province of Cebu was initiated in time for the final testing and sealing of Automated Counting Machines (ACMs).
The simex was done on May 7, 2025.
The communication exercise is intended to achieve smooth and orderly use of all communication equipment and to ensure order in the use of backup devices, according to Police Lt. Col. Maila Maramag, chief of the Talisay City Police.
The Talisay City Police used Internet-based handheld radio utilized normally by police deployed in polling precincts, Global Positioning System (GPS) in monitoring for quick response, and contingency plan in case of emergencies.
It was also learned from Maramag, an advance command post composed of law enforcers, emergency teams, and personnel from other government agencies is mounted near the polling place and the canvassing area.
There is also a Quick Response Team to respond to emergencies in Talisay City’s neighboring town and a highly urbanized city.
Checkpoints and use of drone in monitoring before and during election day are activated to complement other anti-criminality operations.
