The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has verified the ballots to be used in Davao City for the May 12, 2025 midterm elections before these were delivered to polling precincts.

Members of the electoral board opened the ballots intended for several clustered precincts.

The verification process was witnessed by European Union election observers.

No issues were found with the ballots.

“Nag-verify ta sa balota para masiguro nga tama ang balota nga i-deliver nato sa atoang mga presinto,” COMELEC-11 Assistant Director, Atty. Gay Enumerables, said.

A few days before the election, the poll body reminded voters to properly shade the circles corresponding to the names of the candidates.

“Basta maigo ang lingin, mashade-an ang lingin, shading gyud na siya, i-count jud na sya sa machine,” Enumerables added.

Meanwhile, around 1,302 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) are set to vote in 14 clustered precincts at the Davao City Jail.

Voting inside the jail facility will start from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The ballots will then be brought to Maa Central Elementary School to be fed into the automated counting machine (ACM).
