The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has issued show cause orders to two drivers involved in a reported case of reckless driving along the national highway in Cauayan City, Isabela.
A silver Asian utility vehicle (AUV) and a white sports utility vehicle (SUV) were caught on camera speeding allegedly and overtaking other vehicles along the busy highway.
In one video, the AUV appeared to emit black smoke while driving fast, while another clip showed the SUV weaving through traffic.
Both dashcam and rearview camera footage were submitted to the LTO as part of its investigation.
Authorities are now requiring the two drivers to explain why they should not face charges for reckless driving.
If proven guilty, their licenses could be suspended or revoked.
Both drivers have yet to release a statement, as of this writing.
