Authorities arrested a couple for alleged online sexual exploitation of six minors in Barangay Tubod, Iligan City on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.
During the operation, six minors were rescued – three girls who were allegedly offered online for sexual exploitation and three children at risk, including two boys and one girl.
The suspects were live-in partners and some of the victims are relatives of the female suspect.
Based on investigation, the victims were allegedly forced to perform sexual acts, which were recorded as explicit content, and distributed to foreign individuals through online platforms. These foreign clients paid for access, allowing perpetrators to profit from the material.
The operating team also seized a sachet of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia from the suspects.
The suspects will face charges for alleged violation of RA 11930 or the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children Act (OSAEC) and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse of Exploitation Materials Act (CSAEM), RA 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act, RA 11862 or the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act, and RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
The minors rescued were turned over to the City Social Welfare and Development Children for appropriate intervention.
“This operation underscores our unwavering commitment to protect vulnerable women and children from predators who exploit them online and offline. We are thankful to our partner agencies for their swift coordination and determination,” Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) Director, Brigadier General Jaysen De Guzman, said.
