A rider died after the motorcycle he was riding crashed into the truck parked along the diversion road on Carlos P. Garcia Highway in Davao City.
Police said the motorcycle was traveling downhill from the southbound lane to northbound lane, using the outer lane where the truck was parked.
The truck’s hazard lights were reportedly on, and an early warning device had been placed on the road.
Despite this, the motorcycle crashed into the rear of the truck accidentally.
Because of the impact, the rider sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot.
The truck driver was taken into police custody while negotiations with the family of the rider are ongoing, as of this writing.
