A fistfight broke out between two poll watchers just minutes after voting began at a polling precinct in Moncado Kadingilan, Marawi City.
The cause of the altercation is not yet clear, as of this writing.
The incident occurred inside the precinct where only persons with disabilities (PWDs) and senior citizens were allowed to vote at that time.
Based on statements from both sides, one party claimed that a watcher entered the precinct who was allegedly not from their barangay, which did not sit well with the other camp. The other party claimed he was hurt first, prompting him to retaliate.
The Task Force Marawi and police personnel intervened to pull the two men away from each other.
Voting was disrupted briefly for several minutes as authorities restored order.
