Some voters in Palawan were surprised by missing and misrouted ballots on election day, May 12, 2025.

In a report by Super Radyo Palawan DYSP 909Khz, the other side of at least 30 official ballots at a precinct in San Vicente were found blank, missing the entire section for party list selection.

The Electoral Board discovered the error before voting began, rendering the ballots unusable.

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) in Palawan said they have prepared backup plans in case all registered voters in the precinct affected would show up and the ballots would need to be replaced.

Meanwhile, a precinct in Dumaran town received four official ballots intended originally for Sta. Cruz, Laguna.

COMELEC explained that the mistake likely happened during packaging and would not affect the voting process in the area.

Despite these issues, COMELEC said voting started smoothly in Puerto Princesa City and most towns in Palawan. Only minor problems with some Automated Counting Machines (ACMs) were noted, which the agency considers "normal."
