A few automated counting machines (ACMs) have malfunctioned in Cebu City polling precincts on Election Day, May 12, 2025.
At the Lahug Elementary School, five ACMs failed to work properly but were resolved immediately by the authorized technicians.
Lahug Elementary School is one of voting centers in Cebu City’s North District with a large number of registered voters at around 30,000.
Meanwhile, seven ACMs malfunctioned in Guadalupe Elementary School morning on Election Day.
It was learned that ACM lenses need a cleanup.
The situation hampered the voting process for a while that affected persons with disability mostly.
Technicians were also able to resolve the issue.
While voting was going on, a warmer weather prevailed.
Police personnel made their rounds at voting centers and described #Eleksyon2025 in Cebu City "generally peaceful."
