Three persons were arrested in Carcar City, south Cebu Province for vote selling and vote buying. 

Personnel of Carcar City Police Station arrested the three suspects after they were caught in the act.

A 44-year-old man was caught in the act accepting money attached to a sample ballot of candidates in Carcar City.

Two women were caught vote selling, or those who brought the money and sample ballots.

According to Lt. Col. Ruel Burlat, chief of  Carcar City Police Station, a total of P5,000 was confiscated from the three suspects.

The three were caught in the act in Sitio Dapdap, Barangay Poblacion 3, Carcar City past 9 p.m. on May 10, 2025.

Though Election Day has been declared a holiday, charges for violation of Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Resolution No. 11104, or vote buying and vote selling, have been filed against the three suspects.

Despite the incident, peace and order in facilitating the midterm elections in the First District of Cebu Province has been maintained, Carcar Police said.
