A woman in Zamboanga City brought her 12-day-old baby with her so she could vote in the midterm polls.
In a report by JP Soriano of GMA Integrated News, the woman said she had no one to leave her newborn with, so she had to bring him along, together with her other child.
She said it was important for her to vote as she had prepared for it thoroughly, listing down the names of the candidates she had chosen - from senator to local officials.
However, she had difficulty finding her name on the voters’ list. Election volunteers and poll watchers even helped search for her name.
Unfortunately, despite all her effort, it turned out she had been delisted.
She said she would check what happened, pointing out that she had voted in the last election, which is why she should not have been removed from the Comelec list.
For now, she can only hope those who will win will fulfill their campaign promises.
Zamboanga City is seventh vote-rich city in the Philippines with 483,058 registered voters, according to data from GMA Integrated News Research.
