Up to 804 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) in Northern Mindanao exercised their right to vote for #Eleksyon2025 in 19 jail facilities across the region on Monday, May 12.
According to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology-Northern Mindanao (BJMP-10), 745 of the PDLs – 664 males and 81 females – cast their votes on-site within their respective jail facilities.
Meanwhile, 59 others – 57 males and two females – were escorted to off-site polling precincts.
Officials of BJMP-10, led by Jail Chief Supt. Cesar Langawin, also conducted inspections and monitoring in jail facilities to ensure a peaceful and orderly conduct of the elections.
BJMP-10 said the inspection aimed to safeguard the sanctity of the electoral process with strict adherence to security and election regulations.
BJMP-10 reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the political and human rights of PDL, including their right to suffrage.
“We commend our personnel for their dedication in securing the successful and peaceful participation of our PDL in this year’s national and local elections,” Langawin said.
