Around 20 voters were stung by bees after a hive fell off a tree inside the Rodolfo A. Medel Elementary School in Bacolod City.
The hive fell near the principal's office where voters nearby were waiting for their turn to cast their vote.
It is believed that birds could have pecked persistently at the hive until it came off.
The voting was halted for a while because of the commotion.
But as soon as the situation was addressed, the voting process proceeded.
Removal of what remains to be a section of the beehive is mulled via fogging after the elections.
