The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) proclaimed Thadeo Jovito "Jonkie" Ouano as Mandaue City mayor-elect at 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.

Ouano won with 101,549 votes.

He defeated former Mayor Jonas Cortes who garnered 94, 448 votes, and two independent candidates - Jo Cortes and Gepind Requirme with 2,667 and 999 votes, respectively.

However, Jonas Cortes' legal team is out to challenge the result, based on alleged "electoral fraud through electronic means, vote padding, and improbablity of data generated."

In a letter dated May 12, 2025 addressed to the COMELEC City Board of Canvassers, Atty. Benjamin Cabrido, Jr. cited that the "number of valid votes in a number of barangays is more than the voters who actually voted."

Meanwhile, incumbent Mayor Glenn Bercede has been elected vice mayor after earning 98,160 votes beating Vice Mayor Nerissa Soon-Ruiz with 92,122 votes, and another challenger, Pastor Jude Aparre, with 3,129 votes.

Lone District Congresswoman Lolypop Ouano-Dizon succeeded in her reelection bid by reaping 117,107 votes while her opponent, Atty. Regal Oliva got 79,548 votes.

Gubernatorial candidate Pam Baricuatro won in Mandaue City with 113,602 votes against incumbent Governor Gwendolyn Garcia with 70,582 votes.

Vice gubernatorial candidate Glenn Soco won in his home turf at 139,333 votes against independent candidate, Joselito Ruiz with 33,561 votes.
