Incumbent Cagayan de Oro First District Representative Lordan Suan has been reelected after defeating his closest rival in a tightly contested congressional race, based on official results.

The Cagayan de Oro City Board of Canvassers proclaimed Suan the winner after canvassing the results from 482 clustered precincts in the city on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.

He secured a total of 88,526 votes, while his opponent, Barangay Carmen chairman Raineir Joaquin Uy, garnered 85,099 votes.

Prior to the proclamation, Uy’s camp filed a manifestation seeking to suspend the proclamation, citing a pending disqualification case filed against Suan over alleged massive and blatant vote-buying.

However, after deliberation, the Board of Canvassers decided to proceed with the proclamation, pending a final ruling from the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) en banc.

Ang inyong pagsalig ug suporta mao’y naghatag ug kusog kanako aron ipadayon ang akong paningkamot nga mas mapalambo pa ang atong komunidad,” Suan said in his Facebook page.

Suan vowed to continue performing in the House of Representatives to advance the welfare of his contstituents.

Suan was among the members of the House of Representatives who signed the impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte.
