Despite reports of minor tension and harassment in parts of Eastern Pangasinan, the 2025 elections were generally peaceful, according to the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office.
Police Colonel Rollyfer Capoquian, Director of the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office, confirmed that no major election-related violence was recorded during the May 12 polls.
“Province-wide generally peaceful ang Pangasinan. Kung mapapansin ninyo, mayroon tayong monitoring dito, so nakikita natin lahat ng mga reklamo ng ating mga kababayan,” Capoquian said.
To maintain safety and order, the Provincial Election Monitoring Action Center remains on 24/7 alert even after the elections.
The PNP will stay on standby for any post-election incidents.
“As is ’yan. Hangga’t walang advise from higher headquarters, hindi natin sila paaalisin doon,” Capoquian added.
The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) also reported that the polls across the province went smoothly.
According to Pangasinan Provincial Election Supervisor Atty. Ericson Oganiza, there were only minor technical issues with some vote-counting machines.
“Wala nang naitala na malakihang untoward incident in relation to peace and order,” Organiza said.
