The Commission on Elections-SOCCSKSARGEN (COMELEC-12) has called on all candidates in the midterm elections to remove their campaign materials, which they are supposed to take down five days after election day.

COMELEC-12 warned that candidates who fail to comply may be issued with a show cause order.

“Ato silang tagaan og show cause (order), possible, kay sa balaod gud sa COMELEC resolution, five days after (eleksyon), ilang tanggalon,” COMELEC-12 Election Director, Atty. Wilfred Jay Balisado, said.

Meanwhile, all candidates are also required to file their Statement of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE) a month after the election.

This requirement aims to promote transparency and accountability by tracking how much each candidate spent during the campaign.

The poll body uses the SOCE to determine if candidates follow the allowable spending limits.

Candidates who fail to file their SOCE may face penalties. They have until June 11, 2025 to comply.

“Pananglitan, dili ka mag- file ana, pwede ka ma-fine. Failure to file, pwede ka ma-remove from office. Pag mo-file ka, mosobra, ma-penalize gihapon ka. Ang atong bantayan ana is kana bang within ka sa range nga allowable and the range will depend upon sa number of voters in a place,” Balisado added.
