The proclamation of winning candidates in the 2025 midterm elections in Davao region has been completed, following the proclamation of winers in Davao de Oro morning on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, the Commission on Elections-Davao (COMELEC-11) said.

The Davao de Oro Provincial Board of Canvassers proclaimed Ruel Mabanglo as the elected governor of the province.

Mabanglo currently serves as the president of the Provincial Federation of the Association of Barangay Captains.

Incumbent Governor Dorothy Gonzaga was also proclaimed as elected vice governor.

Also proclaimed were Congresswoman Maricar Zamora as First District Representative and incumbent Pantukan Mayor Leonel “Jhong” Ceniza as congressman-elect for the second district.

The five winners for the Provincial Board seats in each district were also proclaimed.

“Karon pa sila naka-proclaim, this morning, kay nakasinati sila og naay isa ka isa USB or machine ba nga kailangan reconfiguration and then refeeding pud sila, nahuman sila this morning,” COMELEC-11 Assistant Regional Director, Atty. Gay Enumerables, said.

COMELEC-11 said it has received reports that some parties have filed suspension of proclamation in the towns of Maragusan and Pantukan. However, the Municipal Board of Canvassers dismissed the petitions and proceeded with the proclamation.

“Duha lang ang isyu dinha, it’s either illegal proceedings or illegal composition of the board. Kana lang gyud ang maka-suspend sa proclamation. All other causes of reason, dili siya makapasuspend sa proclamation,” Enumerables said.

COMELEC-11 said the first province in the region to have made the proclamation of winners is Davao del Sur, followed by Davao Occidental, Davao City, Davao del Norte, Davao Oriental, and Davao de Oro.

“Sayo kaayo ta eh nahuman, ang Davao del Sur ang pinaka una nga nakaproclaim, and sunod Davao Occidental, sunod ang Davao City, and then Norte, Oriental and karon Davao de Oro,” Enumerables said.

In Davao City, the election ended peacefully. The deployment of police personnel at voting centers will continue until May 15.

“Ang Davao City, walay election-related incidents and walay areas of concern sa day of election,” Davao City Police Office Spokesperson, Capt. Hazel Caballero Tuazon, said.
