A businessman survived an ambush in Sultana Naga Dimaporo, Lanao del Norte.
Authorities said the victim’s vehicle was riddled with bullets when the gunman on board a motorcycle launched the attack.
Police said the victim is engaged in a buy-and-sell car business in Manila and had returned to the town for vacation and to vote.
Investigators recovered five empty shells from a 9mm pistol from the crime scene.
Authorities are investigating the incident to identify the assailant.
They are also looking into family feud or rido and mistaken identity as possible motives behind the ambush.
Police are also urging those who have knowledge about the incident to come forward and cooperate in the investigation.
