Operatives of the National Bureau of Investigation - Central Visayas Regional Office (NBI - CEVRO) arrested a 38-year-old man in Mandaue City for his malicious post that offered P5 million for the bombing of Commission on Elections (COMELEC) offices.

The suspect identified as Gian Carlo de la Cruz Maningo is detained at the facility of NBI-CEVRO, as of this writing, after he was arrested and charged for his social media post.

The post reached NBI and COMELEC on his offer worth P5 million for individuals who can plant and detonate bombs on all COMELEC sites.

NBI-CEVRO has been tasked to conduct a surveillance on the suspect. He was tracked down in his residence in a subdivision in Casili Hills, Mandaue City.

The suspect tried allegedly to resist arrest.

Confiscated from him was the cellphone used to post the bomb threat on his social media account.

According to NBI-CEVRO Regional Director, Atty. Rennan Augustus Oliva, they went after the suspect because of the nature of the post that poses serious threat to public security and safety.

NBI has already filed the appropriate charges against the suspect.

The suspect admitted posting the bomb threat.

When GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak asked for his reason, he said he wants all COMELEC offices shut down.

"Gusto lang ko nga ipasirado tanan," the suspect said.
