The body of a woman was found floating at the Bued River in Barangay Cayanga, San Fabian, Pangasinan morning on May 15, 2025.

Police said residents saw the body at past 10 a.m. and reported it immediately to authorities. The Philippine Coast Guard helped retrieve the remains.

“Unidentified ang bangkay. Nag-flash alarm na kami sa higher office para sa mga nakakakilala po,” PLT. Fidel Mejia, duty officer of San Fabian Police Station, said.

The woman was wearing a blue shirt, pants, and shoes. She also had a ring on her finger. Authorities estimated her to be over 5 feet tall and around 30 to 40 years old.

“Sa pagsusuri ni Dr. Quiros, walang nakitang sugat o indikasyon ng foul play,” Mejia added.

The body is now at a funeral home in town.

“Ang dating usapan namin one week [pero] hangga’t kaya namin, diyan lang muna,” Councilor Marieta Cuaresma, owner of the funeral home, said.

If no relatives claim her after one week, she will be buried at the public cemetery.
