Police arrested a former barangay chairman in Laoag City during a drug buy-bust operation a day after #Eleksyon2025.
The suspect, 53 years old, was caught after selling four sachets, or about two grams, of suspected shabu to an undercover police officer.
Authorities also seized more sachets from the suspect, totaling seven grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of over P47,000.
Police said they had been monitoring the suspect for some time after his name came up in earlier drug arrests. He is listed as a street-level target in their watchlist.
The suspect remains in custody as investigators prepare formal charges. He has yet to release a statement.
