Fresh from her re-election, Mayor Bona Fe Parayno of Mangaldan, Pangasinan said she plans to build a safer, more comfortable municipal hall — along with several major projects under her new three-year term.
Parayno won with a total of 32,909 votes.
In her proclamation speech, she laid out plans to improve government services by constructing a new municipal building.
“With the cooperation of the new vice mayor and councilor, naniniwala ako na itong mga plano na ito ay magkakaroon ng action at reality,” she said.
Some residents agree it’s time for an upgrade — especially if it benefits the public.
“Kung saan makakabuti, mas okey kami doon. Siyempre para rin naman sa amin ’yun,” Juliet Ocumen, a resident from Barangay Osiem, said.
Beyond the municipal hall, Parayno’s three-year plan includes:
- Building a community hospital
- Rehabilitating the town plaza and children’s playground
- Constructing stalls in the plaza to raise local revenue
- Fixing tangled electric and internet cables
- Providing vehicles for revenue collection offices
- Purchasing a backhoe and excavator for garbage management
Parayno also plans to seek support from the provincial government to ensure these projects push through.
