Authorities arrested a farmer and seized suspected shabu worth nearly P7 million in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Chinese Pier, Jolo, Sulu.
Police and agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM) arrested a 37-year-old suspect who resides in Barangay Luuk Tulay, Pata town.
Seized from the suspect were a cellphone and a plastic bag that contained what is believed to be shabu weighing around one kilo.
PDEA-BARMM said the suspect was tagged as high value individual in the illegal drug trade and had long been under surveillance.
The suspect is now detained and will face charges for alleged violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165).
“The collaborative effort among law enforcement agencies continues to play a critical role in ensuring peace and order in the Bangsamoro region,” PDEA-BARMM Director, Gil Cesario Castro, said.
