Residents took advantage of the affordable rice sold at P29 per kilo through the Kadiwa ng Pangulo organized by the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist in Alabel, Sarangani on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.

The activity aimed to benefit the vulnerable sectors.

“Maayo na lang ni makatabang sa amua kay barato man,” a resident, Fausto Maguimpa, said.

“Gwapo bugas kay kung tan-awun namu murag bagong gigaling,” another resident, Jimmy Tangge, added.

According to the Agribusiness and Marketing Division of the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist, the activity will be held every third week of the month.

The program was also supported by the National Irrigation Administration (NIA).

Buyers may only purchase up to 10 kilos each.

“Local produce ni siya gikan gihapon Sarangani nga area,” Kadiwa ng Pangulo Focal Person, Jennilyn Martinez, said.

Aside from the P29 per kilo rice sold to vulnerable sectors, regular buyers were also able to purchase rice at P35 per kilo.

There were also fresh vegetables, fruits, processed foods, and other low-priced goods from farmers available during the activity.
