To ensure the proper turnover of records, documents, and assets and to assess the accomplishments, outgoing programs, and future initiatives of the Cebu Provincial Government, Governor Gwendolyn Garcia has created the Capitol’s Local Governance Transition Team," according to Sugbo News, official news portal of the Cebu Provincial Capitol, on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
"The body is created under Executive Order No. 16, series of 2025 which she signed on May 20. It is chaired by the Governor herself, with Vice Gov. Hilario Davide III as vice chair. Its members include DILG Provincial Director Dr. Jesus Robel Sastrillo, Provincial Board Secretary Atty. Pulchra Marie Acevedo, and businessman Mark Anthony Ynoc, president of the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry," the post reads.
"The EO is pursuant to the DILG’s Memorandum Circular No. 2025-016 signed by Sec. Jonvic Remulla on March 3. The memorandum circular itself provides for the establishment and operations of local governance transition teams to facilitate an orderly transfer of responsibilities and uphold service continuity following the May 12 elections, minimizing disruptions and providing clarity for both outgoing and incoming officials," it added.
