The Indian national who plowed through several procession-goers and killed three persons in Bacolod City has turned himself in at Police Station 5.

The Indian national identified as Jarpreet Singh surrendered on May 21, 2025, days after a warrant of arrest for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, multiple injuries, and damage to property was issued against him.

The arrest warrant came out on May 16, 2025.

However, it was learned that the court recommended bail worth P500,000.

“Nag-surrender because meron siyang warrant of arrest. May bail siyang P500,000. Inihanda ang lahat ng documents, hapon or morning nag-go sa court and process,” Major Mark Joel Reclamado, chief of Police Station 5, said.

Singh drove a private vehicle that plowed through participants of a religious procession in Barangay Alangilan on Good Friday, April 18, 2025.

Three died in the incident, while 17 others were wounded.

A relative of one of the casualties is upset at the court decision recommending bail for the suspect’s temporary liberty.

“Sa oras na makita mo siya sa video, ang mukha niya, sana ikaw na lang ang namatay. Kung may pera mabilis. Dahil mahirap kami, wala kaming magawa,” according to April Rose Tanique, daughter of one of the three who died.

Further, police assured Tanique and relatives of the other victims that the suspect cannot flee or leave the country.

“May ginagawa ang ating court. May hold departure order… kasabay ng warrant of arrest. Kumbaga, sinisigurado na mahaharap siya sa kaso,” Reclamado pointed out.
