Several members of the Duterte family who won in the 2025 midterm elections have taken their oath of office on Friday, May 23, 2025.
Davao City 1st District Representative Paolo “Pulong” Duterte took his oath of office, marking the beginning of his third term in the House of Representatives.
The oathtaking ceremony was held at a hotel in Davao City and was attended by family members, including his children, his mother Elizabeth Zimmerman, close friends, and supporters. A standee of his father, former President and Davao City Mayor-elect Rodrigo Duterte, was also present at the event.
Also sworn into office were Pulong’s sons, newly elected Davao City 2nd District Representative Omar Duterte and 1st District Councilor Rigo Duterte. Also taking his oath was Pwersa ng Pilipino Pandagat (PPP) Party-list Representative Harold Duterte.
The oath of office was administered by Court of Appeals Associate Justice Jill Rose Jaugan-Lo.
In his speech, Pulong expressed his gratitude to the people of Davao for their support not only to him but also to his entire family, especially to his father whom he called “greatest mentor and inspiration in public service.”
He said the best way to repay the people’s support is through genuine public service.
For his third term, Pulong vowed to focus on key programs related to education, healthcare services, and livelihood.
